Jil Without Raf

So Stefano Pilati is out at Yves Saint Laurent and Hedi Slimane might be in, Raf Simons is out at Jil Sander and Jil Sander is apparently...heading back to Jil Sander. It's fashion musical chairs round twothousandsixty.
I personally would be ├╝ber-excited to see Hedi Slimane work at YSL (no offense Pilati, your stuff was good too, especially the earlier collections), but Raf Simons leaving Jil Sander breaks my little fashion heart. He did offer up a good swan song though with the A/W 12 collection.
The only question that remains is, and depending on whether the rumour is even true, how will Simons minimalism fair at the house of Dior?

Chew Lips: Play Together

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Yep, finally got around to seeing this one. I loved it. Because...
A: Interesting story line, that even though it rambles on for 2 hours, 38 minutes, still keeps my, at times very short, attention span.
B: Rooney Mara's performance is amazing and the black hair, piercings and baggy clothes never looked so cool on anyone (believe me, I've tried).
C: Yeah there are some tough scenes to watch, but overall, I think Lisbeth Sander can be seen as one badass feminist who doesn't take crap from nobody. And yes, girls can work with computers (although the film did feel a bit like an Apple product placement, tsk tsk, but what can you do?).

Bottom line: If you haven't seen The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, I recommend you do. Plain and simple.
