Numéro #113 May 2010

I wasn't really too convinced of Dree Hemingway's capabilities as a model, but this editorial puts those thoughts to rest. Dree with makeup by Petros Petrophilos, is photgraphed by Solve Sundsbo for the piece "Sang d'Encre (Blood Ink)".
Oh yeah, nudity ahead, just to warn you.

Lovely Lanphear

Kate Lanphear, Style Director at US Elle, is a woman with my kinda style. Lots of studs, blacks, grey, navy. Always a bit dishevelled and not to mention the coolest platinum short hair I've seen in a while. Did I  ever mention that I used to have short platinum blonde hair? I know how Agyness Deyn of me. P.S.: I mean that in a negative way. Anyway my platinum would always turn into a yucky yellow colour due to lack of care aka the right shampoo, plus it was pretty high maintenance and made my whole scalp do a snake peel, so I gave up at some point. Alas, I will just be jealous of looking at Miss Lanphear's lovely locks and looks.
Whilst looking through tfs forums for pictures I noticed a lot of people saying her style is overrated and boring. I'll admit that she does not venture far from her beloved staples, but I'd rather see this then someone adopting every effing trend thrown at us and never wearing the same piece twice. To me true style is sticking with what works for you and doing little tweaks every now and then. But then again, I think it is something that also comes with age (finding your true style), so I am all for experimenting the hell out of your wardrobe until you do find that signature style. Any thoughts on this ladies and lads?
Over and out.

A fantabulous close-up:

Hello Lovelies,
positng will resume on Thursday. I promise. Blogger detox kinda sucks but must be done in favour of academics. Hmph.

Sorry for the lack of posting and that which is to come. A certain uni project is robbing me of free time and mental sanity. Wish I could just pout and hide behind these Ray Ban Clubmaster rip offs I found on eBay (which are unfortunately sold out).

Speaking of eBay...I bought my first DVD sets. Now all I need is the Sex and the City mega set season one to six and I shall be stocked. Got the following lovelies for 7 and 15 pounds respectively. Love myself a bargain.

I'm afraid I might be slacking off a bit due to a massive uni catch up on everything because I have been so lazy thing.
That aside, here's a first (I think): beauty campaigns. You've got your lovely Miss Stone for Armani cosmetics (which are awesome but wicked expensive, meh) photographed by David Sims and a few vintage ones thrown in for good measure.
Enjoying the sunny days here in the UK and hope you all do too. In case you are stranded in traveller's hell due to the volcano eruption, good luck.

I know Miss Deneuve is slightly older (the only movie I've seen with her is Belle Du Jour but she was so gorgeous in it), yet I find these old Chanel adverts so mesmerising.

And lastly, a nice summery Geoffrey Beene eyewear advert
