Give Me (Chain) Wings

A big fan of anything harnessed, be it chains or leather (to which collection I have added my first piece to, but more on that later), my heart fluttered a bit when seeing this beautiful chain bolero on The Zoe Report. Yes, I am a sucker for Rachel Zoe. Guess that throws my alternative fashion credit out the window, but how can you not love a woman who says "bananas" and "literally" five thousand times a day?
Anyway, here's the bolero beauty.

So if you've got an extra 1350 bucks to spare, Cornelia Webb can give you wings.

Haider Ackermann Spring Summer 2010/11

Haider Ackermann won me over with his long silky maxi skirts and laser like cut leather jackets, so it's no surprise this collection drew my attention in as well. Yes those are some very exposing cutouts and those half dress trains aren't exactly suitable for your morning Tube ride, but blame it on the Paris. Fashion there is almost never about practicality but the va va voom.

Lanvin Spring Summer 2010/11

Slowly but surely coming to fulfill the "salve-ishly follow all Fashion Weeks" tip in my course handbook (except that I am a few weeks late in doing so), I present to you Lanvin, the essential show to cover in my Runway Raves section.
Yes there was less glamour and embellishments then in the A/W collection, one of the main reasons why I am secretly on that season's side, but the lavish materials and cuts made up for all of that.

Comme des Garcons Spring/Summer 2011

Rei Kawakubo is a fashionary genius. Case in point:

Balenciaga Spring/Summer 2011

Although I know I am very behind on Fashion Week posting, Nicolas Ghesquiere's vision never fails to excite me.
This collection is quite street style-ised in a way and therefore a bit younger than previous designs, but still bearing his signature.
There are two ways I react to Ghesquiere's collections: either I love them immediately or I give them a "meh..." but then they end up growing on me anyway.
What do you think?

Grandmas And Juveniles

Leave it to the Mulleavy sisters to make orthopedic granny socks and carved wooden heels look cool.

This J.W. Anderson outfit is exactly what I want to wear now. Is it too late to be going back to angsty teenage looks at 20?

You Can Always Count On Anna Dello Russo To Make An Entrance To Your Party

Anna Dello Russo in Emilio Pucci, with a headpiece by Gareth Pugh at Paris Vogue's 90th Anniversary FĂȘte thrown by Carine Roitfeld. So over the top, but that's Anna D.R. If you're a big fan, check out her blog here.
Speaking of Paris Vogue, I must snap up their October issue. 622 heavy pages of fashion goodness. Who cares if I can't really understand the pieces, the pictures will do all the talking. Although, it would be a chance to polish up on my horrific French skills that I acquired in high school. Here the breastylicious cover with Lara Stone.
