I have a feeling that the minimalism trend is jumping over a bit into the campaign aesthetics, don't you? I mean, yeah Calvin Klein is a bit on the minimalist side no matter what, but I see an overall cleaner look in campaigns in general.

These images may not have that much of an effect when shown on the internet, but I can't wait to see them in a real life glossy magazine.

Lanvin Fall 2010 Campaign

These ads are so ferociously glamourous. Mariacarla Boscono, Anja Rubik and Magdalena Frackowiak stood in front of the lens of Steven Meisel for these images.

Although I do have one little thing that bothers me: Anja's slightly tranny look. Something about the angle of her jawline in the picture makes her look quite masculine.

Some old Valentino ads, featuring the now rarely seen but magnificent Gemma Ward (apparently her name is pronounced Jemma not Gemma, which I learned just a few months ago and had to readjust my brain to). I love the contrast of dark lips and pales skin.

Giorgio Armani Ads

Rolling along on the ad theme of today (I will try to be a bit more innovative in terms of posting once Christmas break starts (yay!)) here are two beautiful campaigns, the first is S/S 09 with Sasha Pivovarova being her amazing self and the second is A/W 09/10 with Raquel Zimmerman evoking a 1930s movie star (I love the glossy black lips). Gimme Gimme Gemma

I love Gemma Ward. And I love Vogue Italia's editorials. A match made in heaven if you ask me, although  I am kinda sad that Gemma has backed out of the modelling world a bit. To quote my Media Analysis teacher, "Vogue Italia has the most fashion-forward editorials out of all of the Vogues." I am starting to think she is right. Oh, if only I could understand/read Italian; it would give me an excuse to dish out the five or six quid that this baby costs every month (I know it might seem penny pincherish but I don't understand why I should buy a magazine that I can't read, I mean yeah the editorials are great but that's only 50 percent of it, y'a know?)
