The Fab Four

No female blog would be complete without a post on shoes right?

Normally crystal embellished shoes run the danger of being too fairytale princess cutesy, but the thick heel give these Giuseppe Zanotti shoes a bit of a cooler edge.

Alaia = sexy folks, that's just the way it is. Leopard is just one of those timeless prints.

Ah, those YSL from the Jak and Jill blog.

I love the juxtaposition of tulle and leather in these Rick Owens wedges. I have set myself the luxury goal of being able to own something Rick O. someday, preferably one of his leather jackets and shoes like these.

You Can Take The Girl Out Of School, But You Can't Take The Schoolgirl Out Of The Woman

The lack of runway reports on my behalf are shockingly not due to laziness, but rather me being a selective little thing when it comes to which runway shows to look at. Because let's face it if you are a little fanatic like me, you will head over to style.com and click through every collection anyway.

Speaking of new and unexpected reasoning, I am not banging on about Givenchy for the millionth time because it is one of my favourite labels (it is) but because I was very surprised at the look Ricardo Tisci delivered.

My first reaction was : "Huh?" Naughty schoolgirl? Not very Givenchy...." But the PVC and leather sprinkled with ornamental prints and dashes of neon and kitty cats collection has grown on me.
Not that I am the hugest fan of the cat helmets, but the layering of mesh under PVC under leather got my little fashion head twirling.

Yes, layering might not be the safest option figure wise, but it is a lot of fun and especially if you are a bit colour lazy like myself, an interesting way to add texture to an otherwise more laid back look.
Conclusion: Once again, I am Tisci's little fashion slave.

From Gluttony To Erotica: A Look At Food And Films

In an attempt to not only bring a bit more professionalism into this mumbling mess of a blog, but also on recommendation of the Harry to my Sally to get my work 'out there', I will be posting some work I have done for uni in the past year. Time flies tsk tsk.

Click to read the kind of words my brain likes to come up with when given the task to develop a magazine for uni.

The concept for FLANK Magazine was a publication using food as a catalyst for ideas, for anything and everything not having to do with actually eating food for the sake of eating it.

In short: the Carl*s Cars of food. If you have never heard of Carl*s Cars before, I recommend you get yourself an issue asap.

Craig Lawrence

A CSM grad and originally from Suffolk, Craig Lawrence started out creating knitwear for Gareth Pugh. His most recent collection caught my eye at LFW and the pictures below definitely do not do Lawrence's craftsmanship justice.

The figure-hugging silhouettes  remind me a bit of Azzedine Alaia, but not as sexy, rather an ethereal vision of femininity, but still just as beautiful.

The Only Rom Com Worth Seeing

I am not the biggest fan of romantic comedies.

They are cheesy, predictable and for the most part blah.

The only reason I would watch Crazy Stupid Love is because of the yumminess that is Ryan Gosling.

See the trailer below for some shirtless action. Drrroooolllll....

Yohji Yamamoto

This man is legendary. Watch Alex Fury interview him here.

A Bit Of Boy

Ah, nothing like a bit of androgynous simplicity.

In my opinion Nicolas did it best for Spring 2011.

Shot for Harper's Bazaar Hong Kong by Tina Luther, styled by Isabelle Thiry, and modelled by Anastasia Kuznetsova.

Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop

I have a bit of an unfulfilled love affair with the Meadham Kirchhoff x Topshop range.
Unfulfilled in the sense that I haven't gotten myself a piece of theirs despite oogling over them for months.

The problem: when not on sale I cannot afford, when on sale I cannot find. Pffff. But shelling out a full £250 for one piece at a high street store seems a bit contradictory if you ask me.

My inner nineties child loves the ever so slightly grunge-y undertones in this duo's collections, whilst I find myself surprise to be craving sequinned, dare I say it 'girly' stuff (I am more of a grey jersey kinda gal these days).

Here the past two seasons of Topshop-y goodness.

Stand By Directed By Jason Last

I may not be an expert on fashion films, but this one featuring Crystal Renn is pretty neat.
