Another Overdue Post

Vogue's 118-year history is the backdrop for In Vogue's amazing collection of images and illustrations. Thank god ye local uni library had this gem sitting in its shelves, because the 80 something euro price tag when I first saw this baby in the local book store was a bit daunting. That being said, if I were to splurge on a chic coffee table book (although I don't actually have a coffee table but that's not too important), this would be it. It isn't only images, but I was too lazy to read through the text to tell you if it was any good, but I'm sure it is.
My crappy photography does not do the pictures any justice, so I think it's time for me to get friendly with the scanner machine.

I especially love the old illustrated covers from back in the day (especially the Dali one, hello cool). Such a romantic and nostalgic touch, don't you think?

There are some really iconic pictures in the book: your Newtons, Man Rays, Avedons photographing Twiggies, Marilyns, Bardots and Charlottes. Is it just me or does today not have a single muse that can measure up with one of these ladies? Or is it just a matter of them gaining this status over time? Thoughts?

And because the quality of one of my favourite nude photographs is so crappy, here's what Google spit out:

The Supers of the nineties...

All images by me except the one via google.com
