Stockholm Fashion Week

Looking at the first couple of runway shows from Stockholm Fashion Week and I've got to say, not too shabby. The collections are a lot smaller and less extravagant than those on the Milan/New York/London/Paris circuit but very in tune with the "Swedish style" (or at least what I assume to be the Swedish style base on streetstyle photography). So whilst nursing a stuffy nose and sipping on some African cocoa tea, I flicked through the A/W 2010 collections so far.

Cheap Monday: grey, black and other neutrals in cool yet pared down combinations. Need to get those leather trousers.
Dagmar: making me really like velvet (for once or again, dunno) and just like the overall easy chic feel.
Diana Orving: sheer Christopher Kane-ish goodness
Dr Denim: more mens' than womens' stuff but lots of grey and black as well as making sock garter a la Susie Bubble look cool again
Ewa I Walla: dumpster/pirate layered frocks, but somehow it works
Filippa K: more mature looks in my opinion but still nice retro glam
Helena Quist: fresh and youthful, thanks to punches of colour and flowing shapes
Hope: once again lots of beige, white and black
Stylein: liking the small doses of leather, grey knits and cocoon shapes
Whyred: lots of navy, grey and black. Sophisticated with an edge

  1. This is kind of embarrassing, I only knew Cheap Monday and Filippa K out of all of these! Oh well, I agree, the all seem so... Stockholm! I love it!
